Great clinicians don't automatically become great leaders.
Clinical expertise and leadership are two different skill sets. Whether you're preparing to take the next step in your career or trying to find your footing in a leadership role, you deserve more than generic career advice.
Let's figure out where you are, where you want to go, and what it's going to take to get there.
Leadership is behavior. And behavior can be developed.
We're behavior analysts. We know that effective performance doesn't happen simply because someone has the right title, enough experience, or good intentions.
Yet in our field, we often promote excellent clinicians into leadership positions without providing the tools, training, or support they need to succeed.
My coaching combines behavioral science, practical leadership development, and firsthand experience navigating the realities of clinical operations. Our work is individualized, actionable, and grounded in the challenges you're actually facing.
Two paths. One goal: Better leadership.
Each intensive is a focused, one-on-one experience tailored to your professional goals, current skill set, and areas for development.
Lead Ready
You've developed your clinical skills, supervised technicians, managed caseloads, and gained experience navigating complex cases.
Now you're thinking about what's next.
Whether you're actively applying for leadership positions or wondering if you're ready to make the transition, we'll take an honest look at your experience, strengths, and opportunities for growth.
This intensive may include:
- Leadership readiness and competency assessment
- Comprehensive resume audit with recommendations for positioning your leadership experience
- Identification of realistic next-step roles aligned with your strengths and interests
- Interview strategy, scenario practice, and leadership storytelling
- Identification of professional development priorities and skill gaps
- A personalized 30-60-90 day leadership development roadmap
Lead Well
You got the promotion. You earned the title. But somewhere between supporting your team, managing expectations, and keeping everything running, you realized that leadership is an entirely different job.
Maybe you're navigating difficult staff conversations, struggling to delegate, managing competing organizational priorities, or simply trying to become a more effective, sustainable leader.
This is a space to examine what's working, identify what's getting in the way, and develop practical strategies for moving forward.
This intensive may include:
- Individualized leadership competency assessment
- Analysis of current leadership challenges and organizational barriers
- Staff performance management, feedback, and difficult conversations
- Delegation, prioritization, and team development strategies
- Clinical operations, ethical decision-making, and systems-level problem-solving
- A personalized 30-day leadership action plan
Every intensive is individualized. Topics are prioritized based on your pre-session assessment, professional goals, and immediate needs.
Here's how we'll work together.
Get Clear
Before our session, you'll complete a brief intake and leadership assessment. We'll identify your priorities, relevant experience, and the challenges or opportunities you want to address.
Dig In
During our 90-minute virtual session, we'll explore your goals, analyze meaningful examples, and work through individualized strategies. Expect an actual working session, not a lecture.
Move Forward
You'll receive an individualized development or action plan with clear priorities and practical next steps you can begin implementing. Continued coaching can be discussed when additional support would be useful.
Hi, I'm Danielle.
Danielle Virnelson, M.S., BCBA, LBA
I've worked in the field of behavior analysis since 2010, beginning my career providing direct services and eventually moving into clinical and organizational leadership.
Throughout my career, I've served in director-level positions, led multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, supported developing BCBAs, and navigated the competing demands of clinical quality, staff development, and organizational performance.
I've seen what happens when talented clinicians receive meaningful leadership development. I've also seen what happens when they're expected to figure everything out on their own.
My approach combines behavior-analytic science with practical, real-world experience. I'm particularly interested in leadership that is ethical, sustainable, compassionate, and effective—not leadership built around compliance or arbitrary performance metrics.
I don't believe there is one ideal leadership personality or style. I believe effective leadership involves skills that can be defined, practiced, evaluated, and improved.
A few things you might be wondering.
Do I need a certain number of years of BCBA experience?
Lead Ready is generally designed for BCBAs with at least three years of post-certification experience, but years alone don't determine leadership readiness. If you're considering your next step, we can discuss whether the intensive is a good fit.
What if I'm not sure which intensive is right for me?
That's okay. Some professionals are already in leadership positions but preparing for a larger role. Others are pursuing their first promotion while already carrying significant leadership responsibilities. Reach out and we'll identify the best fit based on your goals.
Will you rewrite my resume or find me a job?
Lead Ready includes a detailed resume audit, targeted recommendations, and role-matching strategy. A complete resume rewrite or ongoing job placement service is not included in the intensive.
Can we work together beyond the intensive?
Absolutely. For professionals who would benefit from continued accountability, skill development, or ongoing leadership coaching, additional sessions or a customized coaching package may be available.
Does this count toward BACB supervised fieldwork or continuing education?
These intensives are professional career and leadership coaching services. They are not offered as BACB supervised fieldwork or continuing education.
Ready to take the next step?
You don't have to figure out your entire leadership journey in one conversation. But you can walk away with greater clarity about where to focus and what to do next.
